You may have noticed when you logged onto Neopets that today was Kau Day. Most people keep track of Pet Days to score a limited edition pet. So what's the big deal about Kau Day you ask? Plenty:

• Kaus can now be painted Speckled at the Rainbow Pool.
• For you arts lovers, there's a new page of Kau themed poetry up and a page of Kau art as well.
• For those of you who prefer to message the day away there are two new Kau buddy icons up.
• Don't forget your free training from Cap'n Threelegs
• Check out the new threads just for Kaus at The Clothing Shop.

And on a more general note:

• The Music Shop has new instruments for sale.
• There's a new mystery pic competition up for those of you with a competitive streak. The answer to the last one was Spacerocked! Screenshot. Check and see if you're one of the 604 people who got it right.
• Neopets announced earlier in the week a few new Yooyu colors. Shortly after, they remembered that Yooyus can't be painted! Now if you want a special painted Yooyu you'll have to rack up the points in the Altador Cup because they'll only be available in the Prize Shop.
• Be careful, there's a new potion going around with some very horrible side effects.
• Congrats to purplepassiony2k for winning the Neohome Spotlight.
• The Grooming Parlour has a few new items available.
• Congrats to Wings the Blue Floud for winning the Petpet Spotlight.
• There's a new caption contest up for you witty writers out there.
